Pastor Jason “Jake” Spence

On November 30th, 2013, Jason Spence, one of our founding pastors at Hope Chapel, was called home to be with the Lord.  Since it’s beginning, one of Jason’s primary ministries was to oversee the internship program.  Jason loved the opportunity to share his love for the Lord, passion for the Bible and excitement for ministry with the interns.  Jason formed very special bonds with many of the interns and was affectionally called “Papa Jake”.  Before Jason’s sudden and unexpected passing, plans were being developed to construct intern housing on our church property. In honor of Jason and his service, we call the newly constructed intern housing “Jake’s House”.

The Plan

A Rainbow blesses Jake’s House, April 2015

Construction started in the summer of 2014, and was completed in September of 2015. Now, each year, we welcome our 12 interns to live in Jake’s House during their year of ministry.

Almost Done, 7/22/15
